Donate Now: Empower the Next Generation
Your support gives young people the education, guidance, and opportunities they need to thrive.
ELSA Next Generation understands that the longer young people are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), the more difficult it becomes to transition into work, continuing a cycle of long-term unemployment. Our aim is to provide intervention and access to all industries of interest to the young people we work with. By engaging young people with careers in a meaningful and impactful way, we will enable students to access future possibilities they may not have thought possible for them.
Your donation helps us bridge the gap between education and employment for children and young people who need it most.
Why it matters:
The problems associated with NEET include:
- An increased risk of mood disorders, substance abuse, and suicidal behaviours
- Lower wages and a higher likelihood of long-term unemployment.
- A higher risk of anti-social behaviours
ELSA’s intervention:
- Helps raise aspiration, confidence, self-worth.
- Provides insight into the world of work, builds work readiness.
- Supports vulnerable or disengaged young people — those in or leaving care, excluded youth, students in specialist settings, etc.
Every pound counts
- £50 will enable us to meet with a vulnerable young person who has recently entered the residential care system and help lift their confidence and begin exploring possible career opportunities once they complete their education.
- £150 will help us source a valuable work experience placement for a young person who has been excluded from mainstream education, helping them re-engage with education and gain a clearer sense of direction for the future.
- £1000 will help us work with a group of students identified as having Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs and help build confidence, self-belief, and motivation to re-engage with education and future opportunities.
- £2500 will enable us to deliver a whole-day programme for a full year group in an educational setting. Through a carousel of activities supported by volunteers from a range of industries, young people gain valuable insight into the workplace and develop skills that improve their future employment prospects.

“Hertfordshire Virtual School whole-heartedly endorses the excellence of the tailored services that the ELSA team provide. The activities offered inspire, motivate and support the most vulnerable children and young people to believe in themselves and to think positively about their futures. Children are able to explore and discover new strengths and interests, expanding their aspirations and excitement about future career possibilities. The breadth of ELSA’s reach, across a huge range of employment sectors, enables direct link up between an employer and a young person, to provide bespoke opportunities and often, a long-lasting and fruitful connection. The ELSA team are passionately committed to providing the employer networking and learning opportunities that children known to social care frequently miss out on. We have seen how this can make a life-changing difference; many of our young people have benefited from ELSA’s partnership with the Virtual School.”Marietta Harrow – Head of Achievement | Hertfordshire Virtual School | Inclusion and Skills |Children’s Services
